Astarion ending up in the dungeons below the palace by accident/on purpose, and coming across the various jars and vases that contain Vellioth’s spirit. Astarion snooping around in them looking for something that can help him against Cazador/ how to get out because he's lost, and if Cazador finds him down here, he'll kill him for real.

After he’s touched a few bits of the old bones etc with his bare hands, there’s enough of Vellioth’s spirit lingering near him to make its presence known and felt.

Ascended Astarion/Any, restored body functions

I saw the clip of Raphael explaining that The Rite of Profane Ascension restores a vampire's 'mortal appetites' and I haven't seen anyone writing about the implications of that yet, so:

Ascended Astarion getting to enjoy food again but being very annoyed by now having to do extended prep and clean-up before and after bottoming, and generally having a very embarrassing time due to being king of not thinking things through.

+ bottoming for the first time since ascension to 'celebrate his win' and convince his partner to let him turn them, but being blindsided and embarrassed by unexpected mess from not prepping
+ their partner not caring and kindly helping him to clean up, which he finds even more humiliating
+ a short while after, accidentally soiling himself because his partner was large, and being extremely annoyed about it all

Saw this kink in another fandom and was surprised that nobody has yet written it for this one, so, consider:

Maybe somebody is just curious about what sex with the monster races is like and turns their partner into one. Maybe Shadowheart wants to deal with her trauma by being a good little wolfgirl. Maybe Wyll wants to make Mizora's 'pup' endearment literal. Maybe Astarion or Lae'zel want to work through their control issues with an elaborate predator/prey roleplay. With Mystra, sex was another form of worship. Mystra got center focus and if Gale topped it was always in her service. So offerings through spells and acts proving dedication to his goddess. She was never going to return the devotion or admiration he gave as an equal, and she certainly wasn't going to give him head. With Mystra, the physical body was treated as something unclean and lesser in comparison to the immaterial. If Gale had sex via the Weave he returned to a body alone, covered in his own cum and sweat, with no aftercare. Guy felt like it meant something was wrong with him for feeling bad or lonely--let alone wanting more.

Compare with Gale with a mortal, who actually enjoys him physically along with the signs of arousal that Mystra 'put up with' as unclean. Gale is used to any pleasure he found being an afterthought or incidental thing. A treat for her well-behaved pet occasionally. It would actually be Refeeding syndrome, I'm sure it wouldn't work the same way with vampires, but Astarion having to deal with the effects of long-term malnutrition and the sudden access to 'food'.

Dealing with the effects of starvation on the body.
As well as things like getting sick and throwing back up what he drank because proper amounts of blood is far more than his body is used to/more than his stomach can handle after all this time.

Can be Gen, or with ships (fairly open, but with a preference for Wyll/Astarion) and preferably no Tav.

Astarion, as well as hiding being a vampire spawn, chooses to conceal his dynamic as well now that, for the first time in 200 years, he finds himself free and far from anyone who knew him. He's spent far too many years being taken advantage of. He doesn't want to appear any more vulnerable in front of these strangers than he has.

It isn't all too hard to hide anyways. He doesn't have some of the more obvious signs of his dynamic. No obvious scent, no heats. He'd concluded that it was likely his undead status that caused it, so it shouldn't be too difficult to keep up the charade. (Only, maybe it was more the starvation that caused it, than the vampirism. And suddenly he's dealing with things he's grown unused to in the last 200 years, and it's a bit harder to conceal than initially expected)

Generally two vampires are unable to reproduce together, but for whatever reason (maybe Cazador wanting a more powerful vampire to serve under him after he sacrifices his spawn?) He decides he wants to create a born vampire. So he finds the means, through magic, to do so. And of course he wants his favorite spawn to carry it (he'll miss Astarion's pretty screams once he's gone. Maybe his offspring will sound half as nice).

Maybe Astarion had once wished to have children, back when he was alive. He can't recall anymore. But when it happens it feels like just another way his body is no longer his own. But somehow, despite everything, he still finds himself caring for the child.

When he wakes up on the beach, mind freed of Cazador's compulsion, he has all the more reason to want to get rid of his former master when his daughter is still in his clutches.

Wyll/Astarion healing

Wyll is a culmination of all the good that Astarion no longer believes in.
Wyll pisses him off at first, no one is as selfless or good as they'd like to think. Wyll must have ulterior motives. Astarion can't even imagine otherwise.

But, while Wyll may not be completely selfless, no one can be ALL the time, he is just.. genuinely good. And eventually, after some time and experiences together, Astarion has to come to realize that.

And eventually to realize that, though life has been cruel to him, not /everything/ in the world is.

Basically just Wyll helping (both intentionally and not) Astarion work through the bitterness and pessimism he's developed from spending so long in a horrible situation.

Relationship can start at any point on this journey, or even be more gen. Up to your preference.

Cazador/Astarion : Animalistic, insanity

This is based on a wild simi-lucid dream I had!

All of Cazador's plans fall apart when a perfect trap is sprung. It could githyanki scientists, very organized and high-level monster hunters alchemists or some other powerful organization/beings that spring the trap but either way, Cazador falls into it perfectly. Caught along with him in this trap is Astarion - the other spawn are killed. Astarion is mostly ignored an left alone, either being consider a "comfort" to Cazador (leaving him a single spawn as a behavioral thing) or simply because they do not care about the spawn at the moment since the True Vampire is their focus.

Cazador and Astarion are isolated together and Cazador taken away for long periods of time. Each time he is returned Astarion notices weird changes to Cazador - he has no idea if they are experimenting on him or torturing him but it's causing him to slowly lose grasp on reality become more and more animal-like until Astarion starts finding himself locked in a cell with a mindless beast he hardly recognizes at all.

I really want to see things that they get up to. Do they have issues with feeding? Does Cazador food guard? Does Astarion talk to Cazador? I don't really have an ending in mind so feel free to take it wherever you want. (Maybe they work together to escape. Or maybe Cazador just one day never returns to the cells.)

+Astarion is still beholden to his masters whims even when his master is more animal than thinking being.
+Cazador starts forgetting things - where they are, how they got there, calls Astarion the wrong name, Asks about Vellioth etc.
++++Astarion becomes both a point of comfort and an object of possession to Cazador: he literally has nothing else left. As such he both loves and hates Astarion.
++++One of The People come in to care for/mess with Astarion for some benign reason and Cazador loses his shit because Astarion is his hishishishis*his*HIS!

Astarion - Elven naming conventions

Doesn't really fit into canon as it is, but I thought it would be an interesting concept.

So, with (at least some) DnD lore, Elves have a child name and then, when they are considered adults by elf standards when they are 100 or some point thereafter, they take an adult name. (They grow at a similar rate to humans until maturity, but their standard for adult is different).

Astarion was turned when he was 39, Decades before he would have taken an 'adult' name.

Maybe Astarion was his original name, and, with everything he was dealing with, it never occured to him to change it. Maybe it did, but he sees it as that he 'died' before that milestone. He did not live to that point, so he doesn't /get/ to have that name.

Or maybe Astarion /is/ his adult name. He chose it sometimes into his time under Cazador, or maybe Cazador chose it for him (another means for Cazador to show Astarion is /his/). Maybe after all these years, with the way time and torture has affected his mind, he doesn't remember what his name had been before, the name that his family, that everyone who'd known him before had called him by.

Idk, I just like this version of Elven naming conventions, and would love to see it explored with Astarion.

Gale/Gortash or Gale/A!Astarion, dubcon Want to watch
